Play with Clay: Pottery Workshops in Delhi NCR
Forget perfection. Come get your hands messy, find some quiet, and make something real with me in my studio.
The studio filled with laughter and creativity during a mould-making workshop. It's a joy to see students learning new skills, helping each other, and proudly showing off their creations at the end of the day.
A glimpse into a pottery exhibition where I got to share my work. These events are a wonderful way to connect with people, meet other talented artists, and be part of a vibrant creative community.
About Play with Clay: Workshops for All
Pottery isn't about making a masterpiece on day one, so please don't stress about the wobbles. Whether you are joining me to unwind or to learn a new skill, the best part is the process itself. Expect to leave with clay under your fingernails and a clearer head. Just a heads-up that my sessions are small and personal, so we really focus on the 'slow' in slow craft.
Finding Quiet in the Clay
I have been working with clay for a decade now, and while I have made countless pieces, the joy is still the same as the first day. My studio is my safe space, and I open it up for people who want to step away from the noise of the city. We don't chase perfection here. We embrace the cracks and the uneven shapes because that is where the soul of handmade pottery lives.
What We Cover
Whether you are a complete novice looking for your first beginner pottery session or someone who wants to refine their skills, there is a space for you:
- Wheel Throwing: We will focus on the meditative process of centering and pulling walls. It is tricky, and yes, things will go wonky, but that is part of the fun. We will cover fundamental wheel throwing techniques to help you shape your own bowls or cylinders.
- Hand-Building: If the wheel feels intimidating, we dive into pinching, coiling, and slab-building. This is perfect for making functional items like planters or mugs.
- Surface Decor: For those looking to add a personal touch, we explore carving and Sgraffito. This is where you can paint, scratch, and pierce your stories into the clay.
For Kids and Families
I run dedicated clay workshops for kids that are all about high energy and creativity. It is honestly the best part of my job watching them create animal figurines or masks. We keep the groups small (6-10 kids) so everyone gets the attention they need.
Everything you make goes through the kiln—a process of bisque and glaze firing—which I handle personally. You can expect your finished pieces to be ready for collection in about 3 to 4 weeks. Come prepared to get your hands dirty and maybe leave with a bit of clay philosophy.
