About Handmade Pottery & Ceramics
Why I Make Pottery
When I’m working with clay, everything else fades out. Pottery isn’t just craft for me - it’s where I put my memories, my love for the pahad (mountains), and a bit of poetry. Every bowl or vase I make is truly jigar ka tukda (piece of my heart). I want you to feel that when you hold it.
What You’ll Find Here
- Home Decor: From my ‘Houses on Cliff’ wheel-thrown pottery art series to playful mini vases and quirky sculptures, each piece brings a story from my travels or daydreams. My unique handmade planters are a favourite for succulents.
- Tableware: Wheel-thrown and hand-built bowls, often carved with sgraffito floral ceramics patterns. Trinket dishes come with tiny animal friends sculpted inside to keep your treasures company.
- Wearables & Ornaments: Hand-painted ceramic badges and festive ornaments for a touch of handmade warmth.
What Makes It Handmade
No piece is perfect and I don’t want them to be. Sometimes a pot cracks or the colour shifts - toh yeh toh hona hi tha! (it happens, what to do!). These quirks are proof that my hands made them. The process is slow, messy, and sometimes frustrating, but that’s what makes every item unique.
Your Ideas, My Clay

My Story
Ten years in, and I still don’t know if I’m at the start or somewhere in the middle. Handmade by Malvika is me, losing and finding myself, painting memories—like my nani peeling oranges in winter sun, or my mother’s tiny garden. I grew up loving big vases, now I chase small joys. I sketch movies so the endings never come. My art is a jumble of Spiti houses, Tirthan valleys, and all the feelings I can’t say out loud.
My Work
Handmade Visual Art - I make quirky ceramic vases, trinket bowls, planters, and wearable art badges inspired by mountains and poetry.
Memory-Inspired Illustration - My digital illustrations and pottery often blend places and moments from my own memories.
Imperfect, Slow Craft - Everything’s handmade, so expect uneven shapes and colors—each piece is jigar ka tukda, and I love the flaws.
Workshops & Commissions - I host workshops for kids and adults, and take custom orders if you want something personal.
For Old Souls - If you love slow days, bookstores, and things made with stories, you’ll feel at home with my work.
