Forget waxed supermarket aisles. Meet the farmers growing your food just 20km away, and grab produce that’s been in the ground just hours before.

This is celery, one of my favorite superfoods of the season. It's not just incredibly versatile for juicing, cooking, or eating raw, but it's also packed with health benefits. It's great for blood flow, gut health, and is loaded with antioxidants. And when you get it this fresh from the market, the taste is unbeatable.

Here's a look at some unique, naturally dried bottle gourds from our friends at the TN Seed Saving Society. We believe in preserving native seed varieties and traditional methods. What you see here is just the tip of the iceberg of the amazing diversity we celebrate.

A vibrant harvest display at the market. You can see baskets full of bright red tomatoes, small brinjals, and green tomatillos, with a bag of our rich, dark compost ready for your garden. This is what fresh, locally grown goodness looks like.

Our fruit stall is a seasonal delight. Here you can see crates overflowing with fresh apples and mangoes, all sourced directly from farmers. We ensure that even the fruits that aren't grown locally come from trusted, organic sources.

A glimpse into our mini mango festival! We had an incredible variety including Sindura, Zarda, Banganpalli, and Amrapali, alongside mango sherbet and mango kulfi. Beyond the mangoes, you can see the abundance of fresh greens like Poi saag, Kalmi saag, and the leanest bhindis.

This tour showcases the sheer variety you can find on any given Sunday. From different types of flours and fresh paneer to rabri and kimchi, there's always something new. Look at the beautiful summer mooli, drumsticks, and the tiny lemon-sized melons.

A quick tour showing the health, taste, and environment all in one place. You can see baskets of salad greens, purple yams, and giant cabbages from our local farmers, who are just a few kilometers away. We also have stalls with amazing chutneys, jams, and even biochar for your garden.

Here's a look at our winter market, where we wait for local strawberries to ripen naturally instead of selling ones that have traveled thousands of kilometers. You'll see a canvas of winter greens like tender mooli leaves, Swiss chard, and kale, along with kiwis from Mukteshwar and sprouted ragi.

As the winter season begins, our market is filled with fresh gobi, methi, and sarson. This tour also highlights our immunity-boosting produce like moringa, amla, and basil. I also talk about the larger issues like air pollution and how clean, local food is a powerful solution we can all be a part of.

A tour from our Saturday market where I'm calling all young designers to collaborate with our farmers! You'll see beautiful produce like Himachal kheera and pine needle crafts. The first rocket leaves of the season also made an appearance, a peppery, pungent delight.

About Fresh From Local Farms

Most of what you see here travels less than 20km from the farm to your thela. That isn't just a number; it is the reason your greens stay crisp and your tomatoes actually taste like tomatoes. I enforce a strict rule here: if it isn't chemical-free and grown by someone I personally trust, it does not make it to our tables. Whether it is the first batch of rocket leaves or a bundle of seasonal Kalmi saag, you are getting the real thing, harvested at the peak of its life, not stored in a freezer for weeks.
