Create your own balcony and terrace garden

Your balcony is more than just an extension of your apartment. I help turn these overlooked concrete corners into lush, private sanctuaries where you can sit back and breathe.

This video shows the complete transformation of a high-rise balcony, from a bare concrete slab to a stylish wooden deck filled with beautiful plants.

A modern balcony garden with a stunning city view. I used a combination of sleek grey planters and lush green plants to create a contemporary and relaxing outdoor space.

Adding festive color to a balcony with bright red Poinsettia plants. These planters are perfect for adding seasonal charm to any apartment space.

A simple yet impactful makeover. I replaced tired, old plants with vibrant bougainvillea, instantly reviving the look of this walkway with fresh soil and color.

Hanging Pothos, or Money Plants, are perfect for creating a curtain of green on a balcony or patio, especially in spaces where floor area is limited.

About this collection

When doing up a balcony, I do not just pick pretty pots and leave. I use a custom lightweight soil mix with cocopeat and perlite to ensure your floor slab handles the structural load safely, while your plants get the right aeration to actually thrive in a pot.

Balcony gardening in cities like Bengaluru and Mysore comes with specific constraints. You have limited floor space, varying sunlight, and you need to be mindful of weight. My approach starts with a site assessment. We check the sunlight patterns and your available space before choosing the right species.

I often recommend a mix of hardy indoor plants like Snake Plants or Monstera if your balcony is shaded, or flowering varieties like Bougainvillea if you get direct sun. To make the space feel bigger and more comfortable, we install interlocking weather-proof wooden tiles or high-density artificial grass. These create a clean, usable floor that you can walk on barefoot.

For the walls, I use vertical railing planters or hanging baskets. This keeps the floor clear so you can actually place a chair or a small table in your new green corner. Everything is set up using UV-treated rotomolded or ceramic pots that won't crack under the harsh Indian sun.

My maintenance philosophy is just as important as the initial setup. I avoid harsh chemicals, preferring simple, organic tricks like arishina (turmeric) water to keep the soil healthy and pest-free. If you need help keeping things alive, I also offer regular visits for pruning and swapping out plants that aren't handling the season well. Whether it is a tiny 50 sq. ft. balcony or a larger terrace, we can build a setup that fits your lifestyle.
