Mindful Moments: Finding Stillness in Motion
Yoga is rarely about the perfect pose. It is about 'sthira' (steadiness) and 'sukha' (ease)—finding that sweet spot where you can breathe, let go, and truly feel at home in your body.
Finding peace in impermanence. These past five days at a retreat taught me that true freedom comes from embracing change. I'm so grateful for my teachers and this community.
Lost and found in the flow. Sometimes you need to go out into a wild place to see and remember your true self.
A moment of surrender in Savasana. This pose is a reminder that we come from this universe, we live in it, and we will return to it. It's all one beautiful flow.
Do what you love, and love what you do. This video is a reflection on how yoga guides me to live from the heart and give myself fully to my passion.
These are some of the daily affirmations that help me move every day. It's so important to talk to ourselves with kindness and remind ourselves of our strength.
A few simple stretches you can do at your desk to relieve back and neck aches from corporate life. Taking mindful breaks to stretch and breathe makes a huge difference.
A playful moment with a friend and fellow yogi. The connections we make on this path are so precious, filled with laughter, support, and shared growth.
About this collection
When I talk about 'sthira, sukha' in my sessions, I’m not just reciting philosophy. I’m talking about finding actual, physical ease in your body while we work through the stress you carry around—like that persistent tightness in your shoulders and neck from sitting at a desk all day. We use Vinyasa and mobility drills to untangle that, not by forcing your body into shapes, but by listening to what it needs right now. My goal is for you to leave the mat feeling less like you’ve just finished a workout and more like you’ve finally put down a heavy weight.
Beyond the Mat
For me, yoga is a lifelong conversation with the self. It isn't just the 60 minutes we spend in the studio in Ulsoor or on a Zoom call; it is the mindfulness we carry into the rest of our day. My practice is designed to be a bridge between the physical tension we hold and the mental clarity we crave.
Why We Move
My approach is rooted in the belief that movement should be a relief, not another task on your to-do list. Whether we are exploring Level 1 Animal Flow—which is fantastic for building functional strength and coordination—or settling into a restorative Hatha sequence, the focus remains on you. You don't need to be flexible or have a certain body type to start. If you can breathe, you can practice.
Connecting in Community
I thrive on the energy of my 'flowmies.' This community is where we show up as we are. Sometimes that means we are laughing in an Acro Yoga session, and other times we are sitting in silence during a guided meditation.
- For the Corporate Professional: If you're feeling the strain of long hours, my mobility-focused flows are designed to open up the chest and spine.
- For the Seeker: If you want to explore the deeper philosophy, we often weave yogic texts and pranayama into our sessions to provide context for the physical work.
- For the Explorer: From retreats on peaceful farms to weekend workshops, these are chances to get away from the noise and reconnect.
Ultimately, I am here to help you find your rhythm. Let's gow with the flow.
Gowri Murthy
I’m Gowri, and I believe movement is the fastest way to come back home to yourself. My practice is less about fixing your body and more about listening to what it actually needs—whether that’s a deep stretch to undo a corporate week or a quiet moment of pranayama. I'm just here to help you gow with the flow, one breath at a time.
