Fasting is a time for devotion, but it shouldn't be a time for compromise. We have curated a selection of pure, additive-free spices designed specifically for your farali and vrat-friendly dishes.

My Black Salt, or Sanchal, is a mineral-rich rock salt ideal as a finishing salt. It's perfect for sprinkling over fasting-friendly dishes to add a unique, tangy flavour.

For your fasting needs, I have specially curated a range of upvas spices. This collection ensures you can prepare flavourful and pure meals during religious observances like Mahashivratri.

My Anardana Powder, made from dried pomegranate seeds, adds a mild tartness to farali aloo, peanut dishes, and vrat chutneys. It's an essential spice for flavourful fasting food.

This is my Peepramul Powder, made from sun-dried peepramul root powdered in-house. It supports digestion and can be sprinkled over farali kadhi, sama khichdi, or roasted potatoes.

My Amchur Powder, made from dried unripe mangoes from Osian, Jodhpur, brings a mild tang to fasting dishes. It's perfect for farali aloo, peanut chutney, and vrat-friendly kadhi.

My Rock Salt, or Sendha Namak, is a pure, unprocessed alternative to table salt, sourced from Sardarpura, Rajasthan. It is the perfect seasoning for all your fasting-friendly dishes.

About Pure Spices for Fasting (Upvas)

When you are fasting, you need to know exactly what is in your pantry. We source our Sendha Namak directly from Sardarpura, ensuring it remains in its raw, unprocessed state. We avoid machinery that generates high heat, so the natural oils in our Amchur and Anardana powders stay intact, giving your farali potatoes or Sama Khichdi that authentic, tangy depth.

Finding ingredients that are truly pure for religious observances can be a challenge. We started Goosebumps because we wanted that same comfort and honesty in our kitchen that we grew up with.

Why our fasting range is different

  • Pure Origins: Our Sendha Namak isn't just salt; it is sourced from Sardarpura, Rajasthan, keeping the mineral content intact without the additives found in table salt.
  • The Sun-Drying Method: We dry our whole spices and roots naturally. This traditional process prevents the loss of aromatic oils that often happens with industrial heat processing.
  • No Hidden Fillers: Many spice powders on the market add starch or bulkers to increase volume. Our Anardana and Amchur are 100% pure fruit powders. When you add them to your farali kadhi or vrat chutney, you are getting the concentrated flavour of the fruit, not a filler.

How to use these in your kitchen

Whether you are preparing a simple meal for Mahashivratri or daily vrat-friendly snacks, our spices are designed to perform.

  • Sendha Namak: Use as a direct replacement for regular salt in all your farali dishes.
  • Amchur Powder: Add a teaspoon to your roasted potatoes for that signature Jodhpur-style tang.
  • Peepramul Powder: Stir a pinch into your fasting kadhi or buttermilk to aid digestion after a long day of fasting.

We know that these rituals are important to you and your family. That is why we treat these small batches with the same care we would for our own home. We don't believe in shortcuts, and we hope you can taste the difference.
