About The Pop n Chew Difference: Our Process & Promise
We do not use machines to grind our spices because the heat generated during the process destroys the natural oils. Instead, we hand-crush our spice blends in small batches right before they meet the mustard oil. This manual step takes longer, but it is the only way to preserve the deep, punchy aroma you remember from your childhood.
At Pop n Chew, the difference is in the details we choose not to skip. Our approach to making pickles is guided by a simple promise: if we wouldn't serve it at our own dinner table, it doesn't go into a jar.
Why Hand-Crafted Matters
Modern manufacturing often prioritizes speed, but pickles are a slow craft. We use traditional Kachi Ghani mustard oil, which acts as a natural preservative when paired with the right spice ratios. By sun-drying our vegetables, we achieve that classic texture that store-bought varieties, with their artificial thickening agents, simply cannot replicate.

- Sendha Namak (Rock Salt): We skip refined white salt in favor of rock salt, aligning with traditional health practices.
- Small Batches: We produce in limited quantities to ensure the produce is fresh and the oil-to-masala balance is consistent across every single jar.
- No Chemicals: You will find zero preservatives, artificial colors, or chemical thickeners in our ingredients list.
