When shooting jewelry, every reflection matters. My approach involves a strict white-glove protocol and close coordination with the photographer to manage glare on metals, ensuring the product maintains its intended finish while looking sharp, clean, and luxurious.
Visualizing jewelry for a campaign requires more than just placement. It is a technical exercise in managing light and texture. Whether it is a macro shot focusing on the intricate links of a necklace or a wider portrait intended for a brand lookbook, the goal remains the same: the product must communicate its quality instantly.
My Approach to Product Imagery
- Glare and Texture Control: I work closely with photographers to adjust lighting and angles, ensuring gemstones sparkle and metal surfaces remain free of unwanted reflections. This often involves specific prop setups that act as light modifiers.
- Strategic Model Direction: If the shoot involves a model, I direct hand placement and posture to frame the accessory correctly. Every movement is calculated to bring focus to the piece without letting the model’s pose overshadow the product.
- Surface Selection: From raw stones to silk and velvet backgrounds, I select surfaces that complement the color palette and era of the jewelry. The environment is always chosen to enhance, not distract.
Operational Details
I manage the entire process, including the careful handling of high-value inventory. This means I use microfiber tools and perform strict inventory checks before and after every shot. My goal is to provide a stress-free environment for the brand while delivering high-impact visuals suitable for social media, print, or e-commerce catalogs. I work across Delhi and Mumbai, and I am available to travel pan-India for established brand campaigns.
