Inviting Restaurant and Cafe Interiors
We design dining spaces that balance operational efficiency with distinct brand character. From cultural themes to high-energy office cafeterias, we build environments where staff flow is smooth and guests feel at home.
This is the exterior facade we designed for Tarcurry Cafe. The arched entrance and warm, textured materials create an inviting and memorable storefront that draws customers in from the street.
The counter area is the operational heart of a cafe. We designed this space with clear menu displays, ample counter space, and traditional Indian motifs to blend functionality with the brand's cultural identity.
This cafe design is inspired by the rich culture of Odisha. We used traditional Pattachitra art on the ceiling, rustic terracotta colors, and cane furniture to create a cozy and culturally immersive dining experience.

For this factory office cafeteria, we used a bold and modern design. The space features a mix of terrazzo, a striking blue and red color scheme, and an industrial grid ceiling to create a vibrant and energetic place for employees to relax.

About Inviting Cafes & Restaurants
Designing a restaurant involves more than just aesthetics; it is about the kitchen workflow and seating density. For our recent projects, we prioritized clear circulation paths and durable materials like terrazzo to handle high-footfall days, ensuring the space remains functional without losing its warmth.
Architecture is rarely just the pretty facade you see in photos. At FMDL, we approach restaurant and cafe design by looking at the chaos that happens behind the scenes. Whether we are building an industrial office cafeteria or a culturally-themed dining space, our goal is to eliminate the friction between your vision and what works on-site.
The Functional Foundation
We start with the floor plan. A beautiful cafe that creates bottlenecks for your serving staff is a failed design. We analyze your menu and service style to plan the POS counters, service stations, and Back of House entries. We use technical layouts to ensure the kitchen workflow is efficient, while using materials like anti-skid tiles and durable wall paneling that stand up to constant cleaning and heavy traffic.
Blending Brand and Comfort
Your space should whisper your personality, not just shout for attention. We have worked with diverse briefs, from integrating traditional Pattachitra art and earthy terracotta for an Odisha-inspired cafe to installing sleek aluminum grids and bold color pops for corporate factory cafeterias. Our process involves creating detailed 3D visuals and walkthroughs so you know exactly how the lighting, furniture, and materials will feel before construction begins.
Our Site Responsibility
We know the reality of construction sites—last-minute changes, budget talks, and coordination clashes. We don't just design and disappear. We provide periodic site visits to coordinate with civil contractors and vendors, ensuring that the alignment of your flooring or the placement of your lighting fixtures matches the drawings. We handle the technical load planning and HVAC integration so you can focus on your business, not on managing site errors.
FMDL Architects
We are Amrita and Akshay. We have spent the last few years dealing with site dust and design drama to learn one thing: your space needs to work as well as it looks. We don't just hand over renders; we help you figure out the kitchen flow and seating layout so you aren't left struggling during the lunch rush.
