To celebrate Ron Fletcher's 100th birthday, my students and I came together for a special online class. It was a beautiful session dedicated to the man whose work continues to inspire us all.
For World Pilates Day, I asked my students to share what the practice means to them. This video is a wonderful collection of their thoughts on everything from their favorite exercises to how Pilates has become their "meditation in movement."
About Inside the Teacher Training
Our training isn't just about memorizing the 32 mat exercises; it is a hybrid commitment that blends live virtual theory sessions with mandatory in-person practicals here in Bengaluru. You will be working directly with me, focusing on the tactile cues and percussive breathing techniques that define the Fletcher lineage, ensuring you are ready to teach movement safely and effectively to your own students.
Becoming a teacher in this lineage requires more than just knowing the moves. It requires understanding the 'why' behind the Fletcher method. This 100+ hour hybrid course is designed for serious students, dancers, and aspiring instructors who want the same international certification I earned in Arizona.
We start with the fundamentals. The virtual theory modules break down the anatomy and kinesiology of Pilates, so you learn to see bodies rather than just cues. You will study how to safely guide people through the Matwork Levels I through III.
However, Pilates is tactile. You cannot learn to touch or correct a student through a screen. That is why our mandatory in-person intensives in Bengaluru are the heart of this program. This is where we practice the Fletcher Braided Towel work and master the mechanics of percussive breathing together. It is messy, it is work, and it is rewarding.
By the end of this journey, you are not just certified; you are part of an international community. You will have the tools to help people move better and feel stronger in their own skin. If you are ready to put in the hours, study the manual, and show up, I am here to help you get there.
