Art is our only true revolution. Here, I invite you to step into movement, whether through the quiet introspection of Butoh or the sheer joy of play. ✨

A poster for my "Introductory Butoh Workshop." This workshop is designed as an immersive exploration of the self, using imagery and abstraction to connect the mind, body, and space.

A joyful moment of dance during a break from a workshop with children, organized by Black Box India. Sharing laughter and fun with them was a beautiful experience.

Part two of our entertainment for the children at a filmmaking workshop. Spreading joy and encouraging creativity through simple, playful performance is incredibly rewarding.

About Workshops & Community Engagement

When I guide a session, I am not just teaching steps. I am holding space for you to rediscover your own rhythm. Whether it is a deep-dive Butoh immersion or a chaotic, joyful afternoon with children at spaces like Black Box India, my goal is the same: to strip away the noise and just... move. 🖤

My workshops are an extension of my search for truth. They are not about perfection or following a rigid structure. Instead, they are about finding your own way to express what is locked inside.

The Butoh Approach

In my Butoh sessions, such as those hosted at Treehouse, we use visual imagery, time, and abstraction. We traverse the mind-body-space realm. It is an immersive exploration of the self, often lasting around 70 minutes. We do not just dance; we uncover why we move and how our internal world shapes our external presence. It is a gateway to the SELF, deeply inspired by Kazuo Ohno’s belief that art must come out of you naturally.

Community & Children

Sharing joy is as vital as the performance itself. Working with organizations like Black Box India allows me to engage with children through performance, play, and simple creativity. These moments are raw and real—just laughter and movement in a courtyard. It reminds me that life is simple, and if we just let ourselves be, we find connection.

Public Dialogue

Beyond the studio, I believe in public discourse about the creative process. I regularly engage in conversations about art, life, and mental health, such as my series with psychotherapists. If you are looking for a space that values authentic expression over polished performance, come join me. Let us move together. #artheals #justmove

I am Archana. I teach because movement is how I process the world, and I want to help you find your own rhythm too. My workshops are spaces for honesty, whether we are exploring Butoh or just playing with children. Come as you are, and let us move. 🩷
