When we bring pets to a shoot, the biggest challenge isn't the photography, it is keeping them relaxed. I don't force them into stiff poses. We set aside time for your pet to sniff the location, get treats, and just be themselves. If they want to run, sit under the table, or chase a ball, we go with that, because that is where the most honest photos come from.
How We Manage Pet-Friendly Shoots
I treat every pet like a VIP guest. Many studios might ask you to keep your pet in a crate or strictly on a leash, but I prefer to work in outdoor, pet-friendly spaces like those at Elements Bangalore. These environments allow animals to be curious and comfortable, which shows in their expressions.
Practical Tips for a Successful Session
- Bring Their Comfort Items: If your dog has a favorite toy or blanket, bring it. It helps them settle in during the first few minutes when they might be nervous.
- The Treat Strategy: I always keep extra treats handy. We use them for positive reinforcement so your pet associates the camera with something good, not something they have to endure.
- Flexibility is Key: I don't operate on a strict ticking clock for every single frame. If your pet needs a five-minute water break, we take it. You are paying for my time and my focus, not for a rushed assembly line.
