Teaching Empathy and Giving Back Through Community Learning
We believe education extends far beyond the classroom, rooting children in empathy and values through real-world actions.
Save the date for Eka's UTSAV. We are creating a platform for children to experience, create, and celebrate with the entire community.
Eka's UTSAV was a grand celebration of our children's creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, where they created and sold sustainable items to help others.
Our students visiting a home for special children. We believe in teaching empathy and the importance of giving back to the community.
During our visit, children sat and interacted, learning that we are all part of one big family. The funds raised from Eka's UTSAV were contributed here.
A moment of quiet observation and connection. These experiences help our children develop empathy and understanding.
As part of our "Recycle Month," children learned to share and care by contributing clothes and stationery for other children in need.
About Community & Giving Back
At Eka, we believe values are caught, not just taught. Through initiatives like our annual UTSAV carnival, children learn to create, plan, and contribute, turning empathy into action. It is how we help them understand that they are capable of making a positive impact on the world around them, even at a young age.
Our approach to community service is not about grand gestures but about daily habits. We integrate empathy into the curriculum because we want children to see the world as a place where they have agency.
When we organize our annual UTSAV carnival, for example, the children are not just participants. They are entrepreneurs. They brainstorm ideas, create sustainable products, and manage the stalls themselves. The funds raised are then used to support other children, which teaches them the value of their own effort and the joy of sharing.
We also observe specific periods like our 'Recycle Month,' where children learn about stewardship. They collect stationery and clothes to share with children in need, turning the abstract concept of charity into a tangible, lived experience. We often take children on visits to interact with others, helping them realize that we are all part of one big family. These interactions foster genuine connection rather than pity, helping them grow into decisive and compassionate human beings. Whether it is making clay Ganesha idols or planning a donation drive, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and build a strong sense of community responsibility.
We invite you to come and see this in action. Education here is about the whole child, and we are grateful to the parents who trust us to guide their children through these meaningful experiences. As we often say, the journey is beautiful, and we are just getting started.
Eka Montessori
I believe that education is about nurturing the whole child, not just teaching from a book. By guiding our students to look outward and engage with their community, I help them discover their own capacity for kindness and responsibility, making every small act a lesson in being a thoughtful human.
