We believe the best lessons happen outside four walls. Our field trips and nature walks turn every outing into an adventure in real-world discovery.

Our field trip to Bannerghatta National Park was an enriching day of learning about wild animals and developing independence.

A trip to the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum sparked curiosity and wonder, showing children science in action.

Field trips, like this visit to the railway station, create lasting memories and provide effortless, real-world learning experiences.

Nature walks are an integral part of our Montessori curriculum, helping children connect with their environment and find materials for creative projects.

About Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our field trips are not just day outings; they are a vital extension of our classroom. When children explore Bannerghatta National Park or investigate the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, they aren't just looking at exhibits—they are actively observing and questioning. You will notice that during these trips, children naturally practice independence, whether they are navigating a nature trail, helping a peer, or managing their own belongings, which builds the self-reliance we value in the Montessori method.

Learning Without Borders

At Eka, we know that a child's curiosity doesn't stop at the school gate. Our 'Learning Beyond the Classroom' program is designed to provide context to what children learn in our daily sessions. When we visit a railway station or a national park, the world becomes the curriculum.

Why We Go Outdoors

  • Real-World Context: Textbooks can only do so much. Seeing an animal in its habitat or understanding physics through a museum exhibit makes abstract concepts concrete and permanent.
  • Independence & Social Skills: During these outings, children learn to manage themselves outside familiar surroundings. They help each other on nature walks, share observations, and learn to cooperate in groups, which is a key part of our social curriculum.
  • Sensory Engagement: Whether it is collecting dry leaves for a botany project or feeling the textures in a science museum, these tactile experiences stimulate development in ways that sitting in a classroom cannot.

Our Approach to Exploration

We keep our groups small to ensure every child gets the space to explore at their own pace. We don't rush through exhibits or trails; we follow the child's interest. If a child spends twenty minutes watching an insect or asking about how a machine works, we give them that time. Our goal is to nurture a lifelong love for discovery, ensuring that children leave our trips not just with memories, but with a deeper understanding of the world around them.

I started Eka 11 years ago because I believe education is everywhere, not just in books. Whether we are on a nature walk or visiting a museum, I love watching the children discover things for themselves. Picture abhi baaki hai doston—the journey of discovery is just beginning.
