We believe traditions are best learned through doing. Join us in celebrating festivals through hands-on, eco-friendly crafting sessions that connect children to nature and our community.

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations begin with children making their own idols, decorating the space, and welcoming Ganeshji with joy and excitement.

Make your own eco-friendly Ganesha with us. This workshop is open to all ages and is a wonderful way to prepare for the festival while being kind to our planet.

Celebrate Dasara by making your own handmade clay dolls. This workshop lets children create their own Jamboo Savari elephants and Golu dolls.

A look at our Ganesha making workshop, where children and adults learned to create their own beautiful, non-toxic idols.

Don't miss the chance to make your own eco-friendly Ganesha. Join our workshop and play a part in saving nature this festival season.

We celebrated Makar Sankranti by learning about the harvest, thanking the sun, and experiencing traditional cooking methods.

Our Christmas Carnival was filled with fun, games, and family joy. We love celebrating these special moments together as a community.

A glimpse of our Diwali celebrations. Children learned the significance of the festival by making and lighting their own clay diyas.

The Diwali celebrations began with a visit from a local potter, who taught the children how to make their own diyas on the potter's wheel.

For Dussehra, children learn the story of good over evil by arranging the traditional Golu doll display.

About Cultural Celebrations & Eco-Workshops

When we make a Ganesha idol or light a diya from scratch, we aren't just teaching a craft; we are teaching children the value of sustainability. All our festival workshops provide the raw materials and guided instruction, so you and your child can create something meaningful together without worrying about the prep or the mess.

Traditional festivals are more than just holidays at Eka Montessori. They are open-ended opportunities for hands-on learning. We host regular workshops where children learn the art of sculpting clay Ganesha idols, painting diyas, or arranging Golu dolls. By stepping away from store-bought, often toxic alternatives, we help children build a deeper connection with the environment and the cultural roots of these celebrations.

Why our workshops differ:

  • Experiential Focus: Whether it is working on a manual potter's wheel to shape a diya or understanding the harvest during Makar Sankranti, we prioritize the process over the final product.
  • Sustainability: We use natural, non-toxic materials like organic clay and seeds. We teach children why it matters to keep our celebrations eco-friendly.
  • Community Connection: These sessions are often open to parents, making them true bonding opportunities. It is a space to learn, share, and give back.

We are located in Kumarapark West and frequently host these seasonal sessions. If you are looking for meaningful ways to engage your child during the festive season, these sessions offer a perfect blend of tradition, skill-building, and joy.

At Eka, we believe the child learns best when they are actively involved in the rhythm of our festivals. We aren't just holding classes; we are building a space where your child can get their hands muddy, feel the texture of clay, and understand the why behind every tradition.
