Comprehensive Sports Medical Assessment for Athletes
We go beyond basic fitness. Our assessment identifies injury risks before they sideline you, combining movement science with expert physiotherapy to keep you training safely.
Our clinical assessment is the first step to understanding your body. We gather demographic data, pain history, and medical background to build a complete picture of your health and identify any pre-existing factors that could lead to injury.
This graphic outlines the various physical assessments we conduct, including the Cooper VO2max Test and Harvard Step Test. These exercises and drills allow us to closely monitor your movement and posture, providing objective data on your strength, endurance, and agility.
An athlete performs a speed and agility drill as part of our physical assessment. By analyzing running form and change of direction capabilities, we can pinpoint specific areas for improvement to enhance performance and reduce the risk of strains or sprains.
We use coordination tests, like this ball toss drill, to evaluate an athlete's reaction time and motor skills. This is a crucial part of our physical assessment that helps us design effective neuromuscular training programs.
An online medical assessment being conducted by our physiotherapist, Dr. Raina Quinny. We connect with athletes and their families virtually to discuss their history and goals, ensuring everyone is aligned on the path to injury-free performance.
Dr. Sameer Mangwani leads a virtual consultation, demonstrating our commitment to providing expert physiotherapy services online. These sessions are essential for gathering subjective information and building the foundation for a personalized plan.
We offer a complete DSSA Medical Assessment package designed to figure out what injuries an individual is prone to. This service provides a clinical and physical appraisal to help build a workout routine that builds strength and avoids injury.
About Our Comprehensive Assessment Process
Our approach is distinct because it is collaborative. Once we complete your movement screens and clinical profiling, your coach and our physiotherapists sit down together to review the data. You do not just get a report; you get a training plan that is modified to accommodate your specific biomechanics, ensuring your workout pushes your limits without compromising your health.
Why We Assess
An injury is the biggest setback for any athlete. We move away from generic training routines to create a blueprint built on your body's specific needs. Our process is designed to turn 'unknown risks' into 'managed strengths'.
The Three-Stage Process
1. Clinical Profiling We start with your history. This includes documenting past injuries, hereditary ailments, and current physical demands. We record vitals like BMI and height to establish your baseline health.
2. Functional Performance Testing We run you through 10+ standardized tests to gather objective data. This includes:
- Cardio-Vascular: Cooper VO2max run tests and Harvard Step tests to measure aerobic capacity.
- Neuromuscular: Reaction time and coordination drills, including wall ball tosses.
- Musculoskeletal: Mobility checks and static postural analysis to identify imbalances like pelvic tilt or scoliosis.
3. The Coach-Physio Huddle This is where the science meets the field. Our physiotherapists, Dr. Sameer Mangwani and Dr. Raina Quinny, review your results with your coach. We categorize you based on injury risk—ranging from safe to train to high-risk—and adjust your volume, intensity, and drill selection accordingly. You leave this session with a clear understanding of your weak zones, such as VMO strength or core stability, and a roadmap to fix them.
Who This Is For
Whether you are a serious athlete chasing medals, a student athlete in our football academy, or someone trying to lose weight without getting hurt, this assessment is the foundation of your safety. We operate our consultations out of St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri East.
