About Behind the Decks
When you see me behind the console, I am not just playing songs. I am reading the room, adjusting the tempo to balance the bar traffic and the dance floor energy. Whether it is a mid-week set or a prime Saturday night, I rely on the Pioneer NXS2 or CDJ 2000s to make sure the transition between a commercial hit and a Punjabi banger is seamless. It is about keeping the flow alive.
The booth is my sanctuary. People see the lights and hear the bass, but the real work happens in the silent adjustments. My process is simple: I read the room and match the sound to the crowd's mood. If the energy dips, I don't just switch tracks, I shift the entire vibe.
My sets are built around three core pillars:
- Technical Precision: Whether I am using the house Pioneer setup or my own Rekordbox library, I prioritize clean mixing. No dead air, just constant momentum.
- Genre Versatility: I shift from commercial Top 40s to high-energy Punjabi anthems, and sometimes even Bolly-Tech on Sundays. It keeps the night unpredictable.
- Crowd Interaction: An MC’s job is part of the DJ’s job. From announcing bar offers to keeping the dance floor packed, I am active on the mic to keep the interaction high.
Since 2000, I have played at spots like Indigo XP, Boozy Griffin, and currently, I hold a residency at Hungry Hippie in Koramangala. Every venue has a different heartbeat, and my job is to find it. I don't chase dreams; I hunt goals. And the goal is always the same: getting you to dance until your feet hurt. 🤙✌🏻😇
