The Art of Riyaaz: A Musical Journey
Music is my prayer, and constant practice (riyaaz) is where I find my path. From quiet moments of study to the excitement of the stage, this is a look into my life with the tabla and pakhavaj.

About The Journey & The Practice (Riyaaz)
True mastery comes from consistent, daily riyaaz. Whether I am tuning my tabla for a classical recital or jamming during a jugalbandi, I ensure the acoustics and the mood are perfectly balanced. Before booking, consider the space you have—I provide my own performance cushions and gear, but a quiet, stable environment makes a significant difference to the sound quality.
My journey with the tabla and pakhavaj is a blend of tradition and new discovery. Growing up in the tradition of Delhi and Farukhabad gharanas, I learned that music is not just about the concert—it is about the years of practice that happen when no one is watching.
The Guru-Shishya Tradition
One of the most special aspects of my life is the bond with my gurus. Sharing a stage or even a practice session with them is a blessing. This connection forms the backbone of how I play. When you see me in these photos, you are seeing a dialogue, a 'jugalbandi' where we respond to each other in rhythm. It is a way of passing down tradition in real-time.
Beyond the Stage
While I love the energy of large events like the G20 Summit in Agra, I find equal joy in intimate house concerts and private baithaks. My goal is always to bring the authentic Hindustani classical sound to the setting, regardless of whether it is a formal concert hall or a living room gathering.
Technical Commitment
My setup is designed to be self-sufficient. For every performance in Delhi NCR, I bring my own performance cushions (gaddi) and stability rings to ensure the instruments remain perfectly tuned throughout the recital. If you are planning a classical event or a fusion performance, I ensure we have time to align on the scale and the tempo before the audience arrives. Music is about collaboration, and I am here to ensure the rhythm supports the melody perfectly.
