About Tabla & Pakhavaj Instruction
Why I Teach
Music is at the centre of my life. Tabla and pakhavaj aren't just instruments for me - they're how I connect with something bigger. My father and guru, Shri Naveen Kumar, shaped everything I know. I follow the Guru-Shishya Parampara (teacher-disciple tradition), and I try to keep that spirit alive in every lesson. What I know is all Gurukripa (guru's blessing), and I don't pretend to know everything. We're learning together, always.
What We Learn
- We start at the basics: how to get the right sound (bols), how to feel the taal (rhythm cycles like Teentaal, Ektaal, Chautaal).
- I cover both tabla and pakhavaj, so you can choose or even try both.
- You'll learn classical compositions (Kaida, Rela) and get into tabla solo techniques, not just the theory but how to actually present a solo.
- If you want to accompany vocalists, instrumentalists, or Kathak dancers, I share the real tricks of accompaniment skills for classical music.
Who Can Join
Absolute beginners, self-taught folks, or advanced students - sabka swagat hai (everyone is welcome). If you love music and want to grow, that's enough.
How We Practice
- Private one-on-one lessons for those who want focus.
- Group classes and workshops for those who thrive in a team vibe.
- Main cheez hai riyaaz (the main thing is practice). I show the way, but your daily riyaaz is what makes you a musician.
Shukriya for reading. Music ka safar (the journey) is waiting - bas shuru karo (just start).

My Story
Namaste dosto! Main Divyanshu hoon. Music hi mera sab kuch hai - tabla aur pakhavaj ki taal mein hi meri zindagi hai. Varanasi ki Ganga par pehli baar bajaya tha, boat hil rahi thi, par Shiv ji ka ashirwad tha - bas bajata gaya. All India Radio ki grading, ya Faculty of Music mein padhana, sab ek blessing hai. Guru ki kripa hai, aur aap sabka pyaar bhi. Shukriya, dil se.
My Work
