Talent needs direction to become a skill. I personally meet and mentor players to build mental toughness, refine game strategy, and instill the discipline required for professional cricket.

I always make time to speak directly with my players. Here, I am addressing the Mumbai U-23 and U-19 squads in a circle, a formation that encourages open discussion and shared learning before a major tournament.

Another perspective of my motivational talk with the Mumbai squads. It is important for me to look every player in the eye and instill the confidence and focus they need to perform under pressure.

The young trainees listen intently during the season's inaugural address. Discipline starts with listening, and we ensure every player understands the commitment required from day one.

About Mentorship and Guidance

I don't believe in hands-off coaching. When you join, you are not just training with staff; you are part of a program where I personally review your technique, discuss your match analysis, and help you navigate the mental pressure of competitive selection trials. Whether you are struggling with a specific batting stance or the anxiety of a big tournament, my role is to give you a clear, honest roadmap for your development.

The Mentorship Approach

Cricket is a mental game as much as it is a physical one. At my academy, mentorship is not about having a chat; it is about building the 'vijigishu vrutti' (fighting spirit) that separates good players from great ones. I see many talented youngsters with excellent technique, but they falter when the pressure mounts. My guidance focuses on helping you stay calm under fire, managing your workload, and making the right choices for your career.

Why Guidance Matters

We often see players chasing fancy gear or shortcuts. The reality of professional cricket is simple: sweat, drill, and repeat. Through one-on-one mentorship, I help players:

  • Analyze their game: We look at video footage to identify patterns in your batting or bowling that you cannot see from the crease.
  • Build character: It is not just about scoring runs. It is about understanding your responsibility to your team and the integrity of the game.
  • Manage pressure: Whether you are playing for a selection trial or a local club, learning how to handle expectations is the biggest lesson I teach.

Partnering with Parents

An athlete's journey is a team effort. I regularly meet with parents to ensure that the support at home matches the intensity we build on the field. We discuss the roadmap for your child's career, looking at the long term rather than quick wins. If you are serious about professional cricket, we are here to ensure you have the discipline and the strategic mind to make it happen.

I’ve spent my life on the pitch, and now I’m here on the ground at the academy. I want to see you push yourself, not just for the runs, but to build a character that holds up under pressure.
