About Your Saree, Your Story: Our Customization Process
When we customize, it’s all in the details that make a saree drape perfectly. I focus on technical finishes like double-pico edging and cotton falls, which are essential if you're planning to wear your crepe or organza saree for long hours. Plus, we don't just stitch standard blouses—we create custom embroidery that matches your chosen saree motif, ensuring the blouse back and sleeves look like a natural extension of the fabric.
Every saree I work on is a blank canvas. Whether you have an heirloom piece that needs a fresh look or you're starting from scratch with a pure Mysore crepe, the customization process is where the real magic happens.
The Customization Process
We start with a chat—either at my Rajarajeshwari Nagar store or over a video call. This is where we decide the vibe. If you love Pen Kalamkari, we use bamboo pens for that authentic, freehand look on the pallu. If you want something brighter, we talk about Shibori or Bandhej.
Practical Details
- Blouse Stitching: I don't just provide the fabric. I help you design the blouse to complement the saree. From trending Ajrakh hand-blocks to intricate embroidery on modal silk, we handle the pattern and the fit.
- Finishing: For soft fabrics like crepe or organza, I ensure the edges are finished with a double pico and a quality cotton fall. It prevents the fabric from snagging and gives it a nice weight.
- Tassels (Kuchu): A saree is incomplete without the right tassels. We create handmade silk thread tassels or bead-work kuchus that match your specific color palette.
A Note on Maintenance
I am always direct about care. If you choose Bandhej or hand-painted art, remember that these are manual techniques. They require specific care, like dry cleaning, to keep the colors and motifs intact. My goal is to make sure your saree doesn't just look good when you first wear it, but stays beautiful for years to come.
