A collection of contemporary facades that blend clean geometry with warmth. These designs focus on natural light, material contrast, and a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.

About this collection

Designing a villa facade is not just about the street view. It is about how the house engages with its environment while ensuring privacy. For our urban projects, we pay close attention to depth, shadow, and material longevity. We use textures like exposed brick or Italian marble, not just for the visual appeal, but to ground the structure in the neighborhood. Whether your plot is compact or sprawling, the goal remains the same: a facade that balances openness with structural integrity.

Our Approach to Facade Design

At Design Matters, we treat the elevation as the introduction to the home. It should hint at the warmth and functionality found inside. Our 'Indian Modern' philosophy drives every project, blending contemporary lines with textures that age gracefully. We carefully study sun paths and wind direction to ensure that deep balconies, pergolas, and strategically placed windows don't just look good, but actively enhance the livability of the home.

Materiality and Texture

We love using honest materials that tell a story. In our Hennur Road project, we utilized Italian marble cladding paired with vertical WPC screens to create a sense of height and elegance. For our compact Banashankari site, we focused on brick cladding and vertical grooves, proving that limited square footage does not mean sacrificing a strong architectural identity. Our goal is to use materials like stone, brick, and textured paint to create a facade that feels timeless rather than trendy.

Designing for Bangalore's Climate

Every facade is designed to respond to the local climate. Whether it is adding shade structures to protect against harsh afternoon sun or creating double-height volumes for ventilation, the design is always rooted in the site's specific constraints. For our upcoming work at Prestige Glenmorgan, we prioritized massing that incorporates garden-facing rooms and central skylights, ensuring the exterior form supports the interior experience.

If you have a site and a vision, let us help you turn it into a structure that truly breathes.

I founded Design Matters in 2011 to bridge the gap between contemporary aesthetics and the warmth of Indian vernacular design. My team and I do not just build walls; we craft structures that respond to your plot, the sunlight, and your way of life. Every elevation is a conversation between modern geometry and honest, natural materials.
