Ever wondered why 'Maa ke haath ka khana' feels different? It's because it's cooked with you in mind. At Desi Classics, we feed you the way a mother would, with love and care.
This is our promise to you. We only cook fresh food to order, using slow recipes and old family flavors. We are not a brand, we are a kitchen with a story.
What a journey it has been. This video looks back at our four years, from packing our first 10 snack boxes to catering for 300 people. It’s all been homemade and powered by your love.
If your order is delivered by 10 AM, our day began at 3 AM. This is a look behind the scenes at the hard work that goes into every dish, from the first flame to the final pack.

Our journey began as a tribute to the incredible women in our family, our Dadi from Rajasthan and our Nani from West Bengal. Each dish is a nostalgic celebration of their recipes.
About Our Story & Kitchen
If your delivery is scheduled for 10 AM, our day in the kitchen starts at 3 AM. We do not believe in shortcuts or mass production, as every dish is cooked from scratch using slow recipes passed down through generations. This is why we generally require a 2-day lead time for our orders—because authentic flavour, unlike fast food, simply cannot be rushed.
More Than Just a Cloud Kitchen
Desi Classics is a tribute to the women who shaped our lives. When you order from us, you are not getting food from a factory line; you are getting a meal prepared in our home kitchen in Malad West, following the exact same methods our Dadi used in Rajasthan and our Nani perfected in West Bengal.
Our Process
- Fresh Daily Prep: We do not stock pre-made gravies or frozen batters. Everything is prepped the morning of your order.
- Quality First: We are obsessed with ingredient sourcing. From the flour for our rotis to the ghee for our halwas, we use only what we would feed our own family.
- No Shortcuts: Whether it is the slow-simmering process for our Dal Baati or the careful balancing of spices for our Sheherwali dishes, we respect the time required to develop deep, traditional flavours.
Can We Handle Your Event?
Yes. While we started small, we now handle corporate lunches for teams, festive high-tea setups for up to 300 guests, and personalized gifting hampers. Because we cook everything fresh, we can easily accommodate specific dietary requirements like Jain food or specific allergies. If you have a vision for a menu that reminds you of home, let us know. We love collaborating on custom spreads for birthdays, office meetings, and special celebrations across Mumbai.
