About Workshops & Mentorship: Nurturing the Next Generation
Mentorship is about more than just theory. In our programs like Verse and Voice, we bridge the gap between a written draft and a stage performance. You will work directly with established poets on everything from line editing to using your body language, ensuring that when you step up to the mic, your words carry the weight and conviction you intended.
We believe that anyone can write, but performing that work requires a different set of muscles. Our workshops break down the fear of the stage by focusing on both technical writing and performance anxiety. Whether it is refining a stanza in Hindi or finding the right rhythm in an English piece, we provide granular feedback that respects your original intent. We move beyond generic advice. You will learn how to handle a microphone, where to place your pauses for impact, and how to use your own stories to connect with an audience. These sessions are designed for everyone, from students to working professionals, who want to do more than just scribble in a journal. We create a safe environment where you can experiment with language, receive constructive critiques, and build confidence through practice. It is about understanding that a poem on paper is just one half of the art form, and the delivery is where the connection happens.
Delhi Poetry Slam
We are Delhi Poetry Slam, and we function more like a big, noisy family than an institution. We started out wanting to make some noise for poetry in India, and we ended up finding poets from every gali in Delhi. Our workshops are for anyone who wants to turn their thoughts into art.
