- Venue Setting: Two Roads Studio in Connaught Place featuring a shoe free environment and floor seating.

- Entry: Full access to the 2 to 3 hour event to watch fellow performers.

I run Delhi Poetry Slam, and for over a decade, we've been about giving every voice a stage. If you love poems, stories, or just want to vibe with creative folks, this is your spot. Doesn't matter if you've performed before or it's your first time - sabka swagat hai (everyone's welcome).
What Makes Our Events Special
- Community comes first. Our gatherings feel like a tribe, not a crowd. The mahaul (atmosphere) is chill, safe, and super supportive.
- Multilingual spoken word night? Totally normal here. Hindi, English, Urdu, even French or German sometimes – what matters is what you want to say.
- You’ll see all kinds of people – students, working folks, seasoned poets, and total newbies.
Types of Events We Host
- Open Mics: Cozy, bindaas (carefree) evenings. Sit on the floor, share your piece, or just listen in. Slots are about 3-4 minutes. Perfect for first-timers.
- Showcases: More pro, with “star performers” and sometimes live music (think guitar, sarod). Venues range from small studios to big outdoor spots.
- Poetry Slams: High-energy poetry competitions. Fast, fierce, and all about originality. Audience picks the winners – the vibe is straight-up electric.
- Bonus: Book launches, workshop showcases – always something fresh happening.

My Story
We’re Poetry Slam, but honestly, we’re more like a big, noisy family than anything else. Started out wanting to make some noise for poetry in India, ended up finding poets from every gali (lane) and city. Doctors, students, engineers, homemakers - English, Hindi, Maithili, sab milke likhte hain (everyone writes together). We’ve given out prizes, published books, but really, we just want to create a space where poetry heals, rebels, and connects. Mandir masjid ka hungama, par poetry insaan bana deti hai (We fight over temples and mosques, but poetry makes us human). That’s what keeps us going.
