About Poetry Slams & Competitions: The Battle of Words

If you have written original work, you can submit it to the Wingword Poetry Prize, where we accept entries in English, Hindi, and select regional languages. We are not looking for perfection; we are looking for the story only you can tell. Our jury reviews each piece, and winners receive cash prizes along with opportunities to be published in our upcoming anthologies.

Our competitions are the heart of what we do. From the high-energy vibe of our live poetry slams at Two Roads Studio in Connaught Place to the competitive rigor of the Wingword Poetry Prize, we provide a platform for your words to travel beyond your notebook.

We believe that poetry belongs to everyone, not just literary experts. That is why our competitions are open to students, homemakers, doctors, and engineers alike. When you enter a Wingword competition, your work is reviewed by a panel of poets and editors. We offer cash prizes to support your creative journey, and if you win, your poem stands a chance to be printed in one of our anthologies.

Beyond the prizes, we care about the craft. We want you to connect with the audience, which is why we encourage performing from memory rather than reading off your phone. If you are new to this, do not worry. Many of our winners started exactly where you are right now, looking for a way to make their voices heard. Whether you are writing about childhood nostalgia, social issues, or the simple joys of life, your words matter here. Come to our studio, meet the community, and let us help you take the next step in your writing life.
