About Be a Farmer for a Day: Volunteer With Us

Our volunteer program is not a spectator tour. You will spend 3 to 4 hours actively working in our greenhouses, learning tasks like trellising or pruning alongside our agronomists. We provide the gear and guidance, but please wear old clothes you do not mind getting messy, as this is real, ground-level work.

At AgroTIE, we believe that the only way to truly understand the journey of food is to participate in its growth. When you join us as a volunteer at our Centre of Excellence in Kumbalgodu, you are stepping into a working Indo-Dutch greenhouse. This is an immersive educational experience rather than a passive visit.

What to Expect

Whether you are an aspiring agri-preneur, a student, or a city resident looking for a break, our farm gates are open. You will work alongside our team on intercultural practices, which are essential for crop health. You might be transplanting cherry tomato seedlings, managing vine trellising, or assisting with the harvest of our latest crop cycle.

Practical Details

  • Location: Our farm is in Kumbalgodu, roughly 45 minutes from the center of Bengaluru.
  • Time Commitment: Plan for a 3 to 4-hour window of active farm work.
  • Preparation: Bring comfortable, closed-toe footwear and clothes that can handle soil and moisture. We provide the tools, gloves, and guidance.
  • Community: We share a simple, freshly prepared vegetarian meal with our staff, which is a great time to ask questions about our sustainable farming methods or the government schemes we often discuss.

We open our doors to volunteers daily, including Sundays. If you are curious about soilless cultivation or simply want to reconnect with the soil, come prepared to learn, work, and grow with us.
