A packed house listens intently during our evening with Captain Gopinath, the pioneer of low cost aviation in India. He shared incredible insights from his journey, discussing everything from his time in the army to revolutionizing air travel for the common person.

About Conversations & Big Ideas

When you join us for a talk, forget the lecture hall vibe. Our seating is intimate—using bean bags, rugs, and chairs close to the speaker—so it feels more like a living room discussion than a formal presentation. We keep our batches small on purpose, ensuring that when the Q&A starts, the conversation feels real and your voice actually gets heard.

At Courtyard Koota, we believe knowledge isn't something to be passively consumed; it is meant to be challenged, debated, and enjoyed together. Our 'Conversations & Big Ideas' cluster isn't just about inviting an expert to speak—it is about creating a space where the barrier between the stage and the audience disappears.

We regularly host historians like Meera Iyer and Anirudh Kanisetti to peel back the layers of Bangalore's past, exploring everything from Chola architecture to the origins of our neighborhoods. We have welcomed authors like Roopa Pai and Captain Gopinath to share stories that shaped our city and our country. These aren't stiff academic sessions. They are raw, engaging, and often deeply personal dialogues about what it means to live in, learn from, and contribute to the society around us.

Our topics range from the mathematical elegance behind artificial intelligence to the urgent environmental realities of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Whether it is a discussion on impact investing, a book reading, or a film screening about life at IIT, our focus remains on the 'why' and 'how' of the subjects. We provide the coffee, the space, and the platform; you bring your curiosity. If you are looking for a place in Kengeri to stretch your mind and meet others who care about the world as much as you do, come pull up a chair. We are waiting for you.

We are a group of friends—Natasha, Nanu, Sridevi, and Khushi—who started Courtyard Koota to bridge the gap between art and audience. We don't believe in ivory towers or formal stages, so we keep things relaxed, intimate, and open for everyone.
