About The Path to Mastery: Belt Grading Ceremonies
Passing a belt test requires more than just memorizing forms. You will be tested on your stance holding, your strikes, and your response to high-pressure drills in front of your peers and family. We require perfect form and absolute focus because these belts represent your real growth as a martial artist, not just your attendance.
Our grading ceremonies are the heart of the academy. Whether you are aiming for your first yellow belt or moving into advanced Praying Mantis levels, the process remains the same. You train, you test, and you grow.
During the ceremony, we look for 'Tharkappukkalai enbathu suvasathin ozhukkam'—the discipline of breathing. It is about how you move under pressure. Parents, peers, and senior masters watch as you demonstrate the stances and sequences we have drilled in class for months. It is a high-pressure environment that forces you to face your fears and stand tall.
These events are open to all students, from the kids who show natural martial art skills to adults training for fitness and combat. We host these milestones regularly across our Bengaluru and Chennai locations. If you have been training with us, talk to us about the technical requirements for the next assessment level. We do not hand out belts; we help you earn them.
Core Power Kung Fu Academy
I have been coaching for 20 years, and I still get a rush seeing a student earn their belt. It is not just about the color you wear; it is about the courage you build along the way. I look for the change in your character, not just how high you can kick.
