About Process, Awards & More
For my 'Euphoric Recall' lettering project, I spent days experimenting with morphing organic forms to mimic the glossy, fluid quality of a fleeting thought. By treating typography as a sculptural element rather than static text, I can create titles that feel alive and reactive to the specific concept of the piece, turning a simple header into a central visual anchor.
Bridging Research and Visuals
My creative process rarely starts with a blank screen. It begins with research, often rooted in the intersection of science and feminine experience. My graduate thesis, 'The Nature of Being,' is a perfect example of this. It wasn't just about creating images; it was about visualizing the complex biological and psychological links between womanhood and the natural world. This foundational work informs every commercial project I take on today, ensuring that even editorial illustrations carry that same depth and narrative weight.
Awards and Recognition
I am incredibly humbled that this research-heavy approach has been recognized by industry bodies like Creative Quarterly. Receiving the Award of Excellence for my thesis illustrations was a major milestone, validating that there is a real appetite for work that balances artistic experimentation with professional delivery. These accolades are more than just items on a CV; they represent the successful translation of my internal creative world into a language that resonates with publications and audiences alike.
Typographic Experiments
Beyond illustration, I view typography as a playground for motion and material study. The 'Euphoric Recall' project allowed me to push the boundaries of how type occupies a space. Using a mix of digital tools and After Effects, I focused on creating 'latex' textures and fluid morphing animations that react to sound and context. If you are looking for design that feels tactile, weird, and intentionally crafted rather than generated, this is the approach I bring to every collaboration.
