The Story and Process Behind My Art
Art is not a linear path. It is a messy, beautiful mix of doubt and discovery. Here is a look at what happens behind the scenes, from the struggles of unlearning perfection to the tools I use to create.
This photo captures a quiet moment in my studio, but it represents eight years of betting my life on art. It's been a journey of exhilarating highs and exhausting lows, but it has shaped me, and I'm proud of the artist I've become.
A shot of my paint palette next to an abstract piece I was working on. This image is tied to a personal realization about breaking free from the need for perfection and giving myself permission to create without rules or expectations.
Here I am, focused on my work during a live event. I've learned that how you show up matters, and this post was about my thoughts on building a professional work wardrobe that feels authentic and comfortable while representing a brand.
A little stationery haul from my trip to Japan. I'm always on the lookout for new tools and materials to inspire my work, from unique pens and pencils to beautiful gouache paints and inks.
About My Journey & Process
People often see the finished bottle or the clean engraving and assume the path to getting there was smooth. It rarely is. My work is built on hours of unlearning the corporate need for rigid perfection and replacing it with something raw. I do not follow a polished manual because I believe art only happens when you let it get a little messy.
The shift from a 9-5 job to full-time artistry eight years ago was not a sudden leap. It was a slow, sometimes painful unlearning process. I spent years in corporate environments where everything had to fit into a box, and breaking out of that required a complete rewrite of my creative mindset.
Whether I am prepping for a luxury brand event or working on a personal commission, I bring that same intentional energy to every piece. It is not just about the final stroke, but the preparation. I am meticulous about my tools, sourcing quality materials from my travels, and I am equally specific about the energy I bring to an event.
There is a common misconception that artists just wing it. In the luxury sector, the prep is part of the performance. I approach event styling and attire with the same level of care as the actual lettering. It is about understanding the brand, respecting the venue, and showing up as a professional who knows that live means there is no room for error.
My workshops and commissions are extensions of this journey. When you book a session or commission a piece, you are not just getting an artist. You are getting someone who understands the weight of a deadline and the joy of finding a flow state in the middle of a chaotic day.
