Mastering Striking: Heavy Bag & Pad Work
Stop hitting the air. Here, we train for impact, speed, and real-fight combinations. Whether you are working the pads or the heavy bag, you are building the weapons you need.
Doubt is removed by action. Here, we are drilling boxing combinations on the pads to build muscle memory and remove hesitation. If you are not working, that is when doubt comes in.
Pad work is where a coach and fighter connect. I give the target, you deliver the power. We work on specific combos, footwork, and defensive moves until they become second nature.
A mix of everything we do: pad work for striking accuracy, wall wrestling for grappling control, and calisthenics for strength. Self-doubt kills talent, so we train every aspect of the fight game.
Working on kickboxing combinations, mixing punches with powerful leg kicks on the heavy bag and pads. This is how you build a complete striking arsenal for MMA.
Drilling a flying knee on the heavy bag. This is an advanced technique that requires explosive power and perfect timing, something we build up to with consistent training.
There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. Just hours of work on the heavy bag, perfecting your punches and kicks until your body is soaked in sweat and your technique is sharp.
Skill is more important than force. This montage shows our students working on their boxing technique on the heavy bags, focusing on form and movement, not just brute strength.
About this collection
The heavy bag does not hit back, but it reveals every flaw in your technique. When you come here, do not expect a workout where you just move around. We focus on the connection, perfecting your footwork, finding your distance, and snapping your punches with intention. You will sweat, you will get tired, but more importantly, you will start throwing shots that actually land with weight.
Why Your Technique Matters
Most people walk into a gym and start swinging at the heavy bag like it is a chore. At Combat MMA Club, that is not how we do things. A bag is a tool, not a punching toy. We treat every session as a fight simulation. If your stance is lazy, your jab will not carry power. If your footwork is sloppy, you will be out of position for the follow-up kick.
The Pad Work Difference
When you are on the pads with me or one of our senior students, there is nowhere to hide. Pad work is where we fix your defensive holes. We run drills that teach you to hit, move, and reset. You will learn to set up combinations that force your partner to make a mistake. It is about rhythm and timing. You are not just building arm strength; you are developing the fight IQ to know when to strike and when to defend.
Built for the Grind
Our facility in Laxmi Nagar is built for work, not comfort. We have 25mm to 30mm puzzle mats to keep your joints safe while you are drilling pivots, and high-velocity fans to handle the heat. Whether you are a total beginner learning to land your first straight punch or a seasoned student preparing for an amateur bout, the rules are the same: focus on form first, speed second, and power third.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need my own gloves? We have basic gear, but for hygiene and better fit, bring your own 12oz or 14oz boxing gloves once you are serious.
- Is this just for fighters? Not at all. If you want a killer cardio workout that actually teaches you self-defense mechanics, this is exactly where you belong.
- How do I get better? Consistency. It is not about how hard you hit on day one; it is about showing up until the movement becomes automatic.
