Past Coding Workshops & Community Events
A look at where we have been and how we are bringing hands-on, screen-free computational thinking to neighborhoods across Mumbai.
A look back at our special Christmas Screen-Free Coding Workshop. In this hands-on event, children learned the foundations of coding through playful activities like a "Debugging Mystery" and a "Sorting Network Maze."
I was so excited to announce that my workshops were coming to Bandra! This video shows the kind of fun, screen-free activities and learning experiences I was looking forward to bringing to a new neighborhood.
This video shares my vision for the new year: to spark creativity, cultivate critical thinking, and empower the next generation of creators through hands-on, screen-free coding adventures.
About this collection
When you step into one of our workshops, it looks less like a classroom and more like a logic lab. Whether we are hosting at a society clubhouse in Malabar Hill or a play center in Bandra, the setup is always the same: floor grids, logic mazes, and kids physically acting out algorithms. We do not just teach code; we set up scenarios where your child has to debug a 'human robot' movement. That is the magic of screen-free learning — they see the logic in motion before they ever touch a keyboard.
Our past events are more than just announcements; they are a window into how we build computational thinking skills from scratch. We believe the best way for a child to grasp complex logic is to interact with it physically. By hosting workshops in accessible neighborhood venues, we ensure that learning is part of the local community, not a chore that requires a long commute.
How We Scale Our Workshops
We designed our event structure to be flexible. We don't need a computer lab because we bring the lab with us. Our 'unplugged' approach allows us to transform society halls, play areas, and even your living room into an active coding space. From sorting networks using physical objects to 'mystery' debugging challenges, the curriculum adapts to the space while maintaining a strict 1:8 instructor-student ratio.
Why Neighborhood Workshops Matter
- Familiar Environments: When kids learn in their own society or a familiar local center, they are more comfortable engaging and asking questions.
- Small Group Focus: We cap our workshop sizes to ensure that every participant gets the attention needed to grasp core concepts like binary, sequencing, and loops.
- Collaborative Learning: By mixing individual challenges with team-based maze navigation, we foster social skills alongside technical logic.
We are always looking for new communities to join. If you are interested in hosting a screen-free coding event for your child’s society or school, we make it easy to gather a small group and get started. 🧠🚀
Code-Riite
We started Code-Riite because we were tired of seeing kids mindlessly dragging blocks on a screen. Our goal is simple: we teach your child how to think like a programmer using puzzles, origami, and floor games, not just software. We bring this entire setup to your society or host it at local centers, ensuring every kid gets personalized attention.
