Curated Running Events and Race Direction
I don't just organize races; I create experiences that bring communities together. From conceptualizing themed runs to managing the complex logistics of city marathons, I focus on the grit and the joy of the finish line.
This is what a 12 year dream looks like. The DivyaSree Nandi Hills Monsoon Run was an event born from a personal vision, set against the stunning, misty backdrop of Nandi Hills. This video captures the entire journey: the breathtaking landscape, the massive energy of the starting line, a joyful runner navigating the foggy route, and the custom finisher medal that makes the memory tangible. We turned a challenging terrain into a celebrated race for thousands.
As the Race Director for the SAP Run, we managed an event for nearly 12,000 participants. This shows our capability in handling large scale corporate events, from designing a complex 10K route in a limited space to creating a grand, professionally staged experience. It was also a pleasure to collaborate with inspiring figures like Jonty Rhodes, the face of the event.
A picture is worth a thousand words, and this selfie captures the incredible spirit of the Taneira Saree Run. We brought together over 3,500 women in Bengaluru to celebrate fitness in their own unique style. Creating inclusive, joyful events that build a true 'jatre' or festival atmosphere is at the heart of what we do.
A flawless race day is the result of countless hours of preparation. Here you can see our team conducting multiple route recces for the Nandi Hills Monsoon Run. We meticulously plan every detail, from identifying support points to surveying the course on motorcycles, ensuring the route is safe, challenging, and provides the best possible experience for every participant.
This is a glimpse into the end to end management of a major city marathon. Our work starts long before sunrise, with volunteers setting up water stations at 4 AM. It continues with managing the waves of runners, fostering enthusiasm along the route, and culminates in a well deserved celebration. From logistics to post race parties, we ensure every element is seamless.
I believe that an athlete is anyone who decides to challenge their limits. It was an honor to share this philosophy at a TEDx talk at SIBM Bengaluru. My approach to event management is built on this same principle: creating platforms where everyday people can discover the athlete within themselves. This talk explains the 'why' behind the events I build.
About this collection
Organizing a race isn't just about setting up a few banners. My approach involves a granular, day-zero audit of the route—whether it's the steep inclines of Nandi Hills or a complex urban stretch—to ensure that the technical design supports both safety and runner performance. I don't hand off the execution; I am in the command centre managing real-time decisions, so your event feels like a festival, not a chaotic management task.
Running events require more than just a route and a start line. They need a vision. My work in race direction is rooted in 'Jatre'—a festival spirit where every volunteer, participant, and spectator feels part of something bigger.
The Anatomy of a Successful Race
- Route Architecture: I analyze elevation profiles and traffic patterns long before race day. For the Nandi Hills Monsoon Run, that meant multiple reconnaissance trips to understand exactly how the terrain affects runner flow.
- Logistics & Safety: Safety is non-negotiable. This means hospital-grade medical grids, trained bike medics, and traffic marshals every few hundred meters. For high-volume events like the SAP Run, we manage thousands with precise RFID timing and crowd control, ensuring there are no bottlenecks even in limited spaces.
- The Human Element: A race is only as good as its support. My JJsRunning community forms the backbone of my volunteer force. They are trained to brief runners, manage hydration stations from 4 AM, and keep the energy high.
Why My Approach Works
Whether you are looking for a high-energy themed event like the Saree Run or a large-scale corporate marathon, the principle remains the same. I handle the liaising with government bodies, traffic police, and district administrations so you don't have to navigate the bureaucracy. You get a turnkey race experience where I manage the command centre, and you get to engage with your community. If you have a concept, let’s talk about how we can turn it into a race day that runners will actually enjoy.
Pramod Deshpande
I’m Coach Pramod, and my philosophy is simple: everyone has a runner inside them, but they need the right environment to find it. I translate that belief into race events that feel personal, whether it's a small group run or a city-wide marathon.
