Signature Hill and Trail Run Organization
Hosting a trail run in challenging terrain is different from a standard road marathon. I specialize in the technical logistics of hill events—from route design and safety audits to navigating local permissions.
The curtain raiser for the DivyaSree Nandi Hills Monsoon Run brought together Bengaluru's running community leaders, sponsors, and key government officials. This is a critical part of our process, where we align all stakeholders, unveil the event plan, and build excitement. The energy in the room was a preview of the incredible race day to come.
About this collection
Hill and trail runs demand more than standard road logistics. You need careful route architecture to manage elevation gain, runner flow, and rigorous safety audits for medical access in remote areas. I handle the liaison with local authorities, forest departments, and police to ensure your event is fully permitted and safe, so you can focus on the participant experience.
Beyond the Finish Line
When you move an event off the city streets and onto trails or hills, the complexity doubles. My approach to trail running events is built on three pillars: technical precision, runner safety, and the 'jatre' (festival) spirit.
Technical Route Design
I treat every course as a science project. We analyze elevation profiles to create a route that is challenging but runnable. It is about understanding the flow—where do runners bunch up? Where do you need extra hydration stations? My team handles the calibration, course marking, and volunteer placement to ensure a smooth flow, even on tough terrain.
Permissions and Safety
This is where most organizers struggle. I take on the heavy lifting of liaising with government departments, police, and forest officials. We build a medical emergency protocol that is specific to the terrain. If we are in the hills, we set up hospital-grade medical grids, including bike medics and ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulances, because standard ambulances cannot reach remote trail sections.
The 'Jatre' Experience
Even a hardcore trail run should feel like a celebration. I bring the 'jatre' spirit to every event—making sure the bibs, medals, and finish-line entertainment are top-tier. My volunteer community, JJsRunning, ensures that every runner feels supported from the start line to the post-run breakfast.
Whether you are planning an intimate trail event for 500 or a large-scale mountain challenge, I apply the same disciplined, structured approach that I use in my marathon coaching. Let's build a race that runners actually talk about.
Pramod Deshpande
I'm Pramod. I believe every race should feel like a 'jatre'—a community festival. I don't just manage event logistics; I design the route, secure the permits, and bring the energy that turns a basic run into a memorable experience for everyone involved.
