About Olympic Lifting: The Clean & Jerk
You don't need fancy equipment to build a massive clean. I use block work and targeted drills like the muscle clean to fix your turnover speed and bar path before we ever go for a max effort attempt. If your bar path is off, you're just fighting gravity, not training effectively.
The clean and jerk is the king of explosive movements. In my coaching, we don't just 'lift heavy.' We break it down. Whether we are working on the first pull to get you off the floor or refining your split jerk, every rep has a purpose.
I train at ZeroDope in Indirapuram, and I focus heavily on biomechanics. A lot of lifters mess up the turnover because they rush the second pull. We use block cleans to isolate that exact phase, making sure your bar path stays close and your extension is violent.
What we focus on:
- Drill Breakdown: We use muscle cleans and hang cleans to build timing.
- Technique First: We drill the catch position so you feel stable under the weight.
- Addressing Weak Points: If you are missing the jerk, we work on push presses and your overhead stability.
Bas, consistency chahiye. I won't sugarcoat the process. Lifting is hard, but it’s the best way to develop true explosive strength. If you are ready to stop guessing and start training with a plan, let’s get to work.
