About this collection

Whether it is a solo acoustic morning recital at Prithvi Theatre or a 6-piece fusion set with my band Urja at a large venue, I adapt my sound to the room. If you are planning an event, remember that classical setups are delicate and require specific stage microphone configurations, while our fusion sets demand full PA support and a dedicated sound check to maintain the right energy.

Every performance is a unique conversation. My journey has taken me from the quiet, meditative morning raags at platforms like Udayswar@Prithvi and the Deepgandha series, to the electric atmosphere of festivals in Bengaluru, Udupi, and Mumbai.

Matching Music to the Venue

  • Classical Recitals: These require an environment where the audience can listen actively. For venues like NCPA or local cultural clubs, I focus on the purity of the sitar and tabla interaction. We keep the amplification minimal to retain the natural resonance of the instruments.
  • Fusion & Band Sets: When I perform with my band, Urja, the dynamic changes entirely. We play at larger auditoriums like NMACC or college festivals where the goal is high energy. This requires a professional PA system, stage monitors, and a clear mixing console to balance the sitar with drums, bass, and keyboards.

Planning Your Event

I treat every booking with the same care, whether it is for a corporate inauguration, a wedding reception, or a private house concert. If you are curious about what works best for your space, we can discuss the technical layout early on. I am happy to travel across India to perform, provided the venue can support the specific audio requirements for the chosen style of music. My goal is to ensure the sound matches the setting perfectly.

I am Chintan, and for me, the sitar is a conversation—sometimes with the audience, sometimes with my bandmates in Urja. I feel incredibly fortunate to have taken this music from intimate classical baithaks to concert stages across India, and I would love to bring that same dedication to your event.
