Whether you are hosting an intimate baithak, a corporate event, or a lively fusion concert, my sitar performances are designed to bring soul and energy to your special day.

This is a professional shot from a session with my brother, Chirag. Performing sitar duets together is one of my greatest joys, and this image captures the harmony and connection we share on stage.

Here is my fusion band 'Urja' live in concert in Udupi. This image captures the scale and energy of our performances, where we blend traditional sitar with drums, bass, and keyboards for a powerful sound.

A moment of joy during a performance with my band at a beautiful venue in Bangalore. I love connecting with the audience through my music, whether it's a soulful raag or an energetic fusion piece.

A glimpse into a sitar duet, or jugalbandi, with my brother Chirag, accompanied by the talented Amit Kavthekar on tabla. This format is a musical conversation, full of improvisation and shared energy.

Performing for a full house in New Jersey during one of our USA tours. There is nothing more rewarding than sharing my music with a large and receptive audience like this.

A truly memorable moment meeting the legendary Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji. It was an honour to discuss the sitar and Indian classical music with him.

This is the essence of a 'baithak' or house concert. I love these intimate settings where the music can be shared up close, creating a personal and immersive experience for everyone present.

About this collection

I perform everything from traditional Indian classical raags to modern fusion and Bollywood sets with my band, Urja. For event planners or hosts, the key is the venue setup: I typically need a clean, raised stage—ideally 8x6 ft for solo acts—and a standard professional sound system to ensure the sitar’s intricate strings resonate clearly for your guests.

Music is my lifeline, and my goal is to make it the heartbeat of your event. My work spans two distinct worlds: the quiet intensity of Indian classical music and the vibrant energy of live fusion.

Classical Baithak & Concerts

For smaller gatherings, house concerts, or formal receptions, I perform traditional solo sitar recitals. These are meditative and grounded, perfect for creating a sophisticated atmosphere. My jugalbandi (duet) performances with my brother, Chirag, bring a unique, synchronized energy that works wonderfully as a headline act for cultural festivals or evening ceremonies.

Urja Fusion Band

When you need higher energy, my band, Urja, takes over. This 6-piece ensemble blends the sitar with drums, keys, and bass, delivering a sound that is perfect for upbeat corporate events or sangeet nights. We rework everything from classical compositions to contemporary Bollywood hits, ensuring your guests are engaged from the first note.

Logistics & Tech

Whether it is a living room baithak or a large-scale auditorium, I take sound very seriously. For classical setups, I generally require two Shure SM57/58 mics and a small mixer. For full band fusion shows, a professional PA system with adequate subwoofers is essential to handle the bass and electric elements. I have performed everywhere from the NCPA in Mumbai to auditoriums in New Jersey, and I always ensure my technical requirements are communicated clearly so the focus remains entirely on the music.

Music’s always felt like home to me. My Aai is my pillar, and my brother Chirag is the best musical partner I could ask for. I pour my heart into every performance, whether I'm deep in a classical raag or jamming with my fusion band, Urja.
