Solo Sitar Recitals & Raag Performances
Whether it is the meditative depth of a morning raag or the nostalgia of a Bollywood melody, I bring the soul of the sitar to your private gatherings.
A sitar cover of the beautiful Bollywood song 'Aaoge Jab Tum'. I love reinterpreting popular melodies on the sitar, giving them a new, instrumental voice.
My musical tribute to our nation, playing "Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyaara Hai". I often create sitar covers for special occasions like Independence Day.
Trying my hand at the classic Bollywood hit 'Sathiya Tune Kya Kiya'. These solo videos are a great way for me to connect with fans of film music.
A sitar cover of the popular Kannada song 'Neenade Naa'. I enjoy exploring music from different regions of India and presenting it on my instrument.
A professional photoshoot with my sitar. These portraits are a way to express my personal connection with my instrument.
A clip from my morning 'riyaaz' (practice), playing Raag Miyan ki Todi. This is the daily discipline that forms the foundation of my music.
A casual shot of me playing outdoors. I find inspiration in different environments, and sometimes the best music happens away from the stage.
About this collection
For these solo performances, I typically require a minimal setup—two microphones on stands and a quiet, focused space. If your venue does not have a professional sound system, I can help you coordinate with a local audio partner to ensure the natural resonance of the sitar reaches every corner of your event without needing a massive PA setup.
My daily practice, or riyaaz, is where my music begins, but my greatest joy is sharing that journey with you. When you book a solo sitar recital, I curate the performance based on the mood of your event. For morning ceremonies or corporate inaugurals, we can focus on pure Indian classical raags like Miya ki Todi or Maru Bihag to create an atmosphere of calm and focus.
If you are hosting a more casual gathering, I also love reinterpreting iconic Bollywood melodies. Whether it is a classic song or a modern favorite, translating vocal lines onto the strings creates a unique listening experience. I treat every note with the same discipline, whether I am performing at a formal concert hall or a private living room setting.
Regarding logistics, I usually perform with a professional tabla accompanist. We typically need a 90-minute slot, which we can split into two 45-minute sets to suit your event flow. For sound, we prefer a warm, acoustic-friendly environment. I am happy to perform on a raised platform or a traditional floor baithak setup, depending on the venue and what makes your guests feel most comfortable. Let us create a space where the music speaks for itself.
