About Live Sitar Performance
Music is honestly my lifeline. Every time I pick up my sitar, I feel like I’m sharing bits of my own journey—sometimes it’s intense and deep, other times it’s just pure fun. My Aai (mother) is the reason I get to do this, and I don’t take that for granted.
What I Offer
-
Classical Vibes:
For those looking for real Indian classical raag performance, I do solo sitar concerts with tabla, and sometimes team up with my brother for a double sitar jugalbandi. These are perfect if you want the audience to just sit back and soak in the sound. -
Fusion Energy:
My band, Urja, mixes it up with a proper fusion band with sitar, drums, keys, and more. We play everything from world music to our own original tunes. This setup works great for festivals and big, lively gatherings. -
Personal Touch:
I love smaller settings too—baithak style house concerts, sangeet seva for festivals, or even sitar music for private parties and corporate gigs. If you want Bollywood songs on sitar, or light classical, I’m happy to put together something that fits your vibe.
My Style
I don’t stick to just one thing. Sometimes it’s a meditative raag, sometimes a Bollywood hit, and sometimes something totally new. I’ve played everywhere from NCPA and Kala Ghoda fests to small homes, and every space brings out something different in my music. If you’re looking for something soulful, energetic, or straight-up fun, I can work with what you need.

My Story
Music’s always felt like home to me. My Aai holds the fort, and Chirag - my elder brother - is my guide, my best pal. Playing a sitar duet with him? Pure fun, totally different vibe. Gurupoornima brings back all the guru memories, big dreams. The sitar’s been in my family for ages, can’t imagine life without it. From Mumbai gigs to US tours, it’s the simple stuff, chilling with family after shows, that makes it all magic.
My Work
Sitarist, Composer & Teacher - I play sitar live (solo, with my band Urja), record sessions, and teach Indian classical music lessons.
Indian Classical & Meditative Raags - My heart’s in classical - morning riyaaz with soulful raags, and big moments like performing at Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Mahotsav.
Fusion & Bollywood Sitar Covers - With Urja, I blend genres, create originals, and love giving Bollywood or Kannada hits a sitar twist.
Collaborations & Sitar Duets - Playing with Chirag, jamming with friends on tabla and keys - music’s just better when shared.
