Standard Leather Bag Commission
Workshop Experience
- Guided Tour: 45 to 60 minute walkthrough of the Ghitorni workshop to view raw crust leather piles and inspection of the production floor.
- Leather Selection: Tactile session to select leather grades, comparing semi-stiff structural hides vs soft slouchy options in standard finishes like NDM or Pebbled Grain.
- Functional Design: Selection of a base model with utility customizations including strap drop adjustment, converting magnetic closures to zips, or adding dedicated device pockets.
The Bag Specifications
- Material: Full-grain or Top-grain Buffalo/Goat leather construction.
- Production: Single Artisan Made process where one maker crafts the bag from start to finish over 1.5 to 2 days.
- Warranty & Finish: Includes complimentary gold or blind monogramming, dust bag, hard box storage, and a 2 year manufacturing warranty.

Advanced Design Consultation
- Artistic Direction: Extended 90 minute session to visualize complex finishes, thread colors, and specific motif placements on the bag structure.
- Technique Selection: Options include multi-color Madurai or Rainbow leather weaving, hand-embroidered chain-stitch lace, or traditional metallic Zardozi work.
- Specialty Materials: Access to limited-run exotic leathers including metallic bronze finishes, textured croc prints, or foiled Disco Safari prints.
The Bag Specifications
- Complex Construction: High-intricacy production requiring 3 to 5 days of specialized labor for weaving, embroidery, or painting.
- Custom Detailing: Selection of custom lining colors (where applicable) and precise positioning of art motifs on the leather surface.
- Warranty & Finish: Includes premium packaging, 2 year warranty, and direct interaction with the specialized artisan handling the specific art form.

Step into our Ghitorni studio and see what goes behind every Chiaroscuro bag. This is not a regular store - it’s our actual workshop, buzzing with leather, tools, and artisans deep in their craft.
What You’ll Experience
- Get a real taste of our 'Single Artisan Made' approach - watch how one person creates a bag from start to finish.
- Meet and feel our range of upcycled leathers. Some are soft, others firm, and you’ll spot textures like halka grainy (slightly grainy) or metallic. Since we work with small lots, some leathers are rare. Sometimes you’ll hear us say, 'Bahut bika hai, khatam hone wala hai ye toh' (This one's nearly sold out).
- Join us in a personal bag consultation - we design together, chatting about what you need, whether it's for work, travel, or everyday life.
Your Bag, Your Rules
Bring your ideas - we love working with you on custom leather bag design. Past visitors have inspired new features and permanent designs. You can tweak structure (zips, dividers, strap length), add initials or secret messages, or go all out with embroidery or hand-painted art. Honestly, 'Aap dik jaoge kahin se bhi' (You’ll stand out anywhere).

My Story
Smriti here – so, Chiaroscuro is basically a tiny studio tucked in Delhi, where leather scraps become something special. It's not all shiny and showroom-y, just a few of us, hands deep in leather, stitching away. Sometimes we score wild leftover leather, sometimes it's soft, sometimes not so much. Each bag’s got a bit of India in it – Kashida, Sanganeri, even Gond art. What I love most? Watching our single artisan leather bags travel from Mumbai to Egypt, each one with its own story.
