Hand-Drawn Pencil Sketch Portraits
I turn your favorite photos into timeless, hand-drawn graphite portraits. Whether it is a single face, a couple, or a family, I focus on capturing the real personality behind every feature.
A collage of some of my commissioned pencil sketches. I work with a wide range of subjects, from individual portraits of men and women to celebrity likenesses.
Another collection showcasing my portrait sketch work. I can capture babies, couples, and family members, focusing on creating a realistic and heartfelt drawing from your photos.
About this collection
To get the best result, please share a high-resolution photo with clear lighting. Since I work with graphite and charcoal, the clarity in your original image directly translates to the depth and detail I can achieve in the final sketch. A sharp focus on facial features and expressions helps me capture the likeness you are looking for.
My Approach to Pencil Portraits
I treat every portrait as a collaboration. I use heavyweight, acid-free cartridge or Bristol paper (minimum 160 GSM) to ensure your artwork stays in good condition for years. I build the image using a range of pencils from HB to 8B, layering graphite and charcoal to create rich shadows and soft highlights that give the portrait dimension.
What to Expect
- Style & Composition: I focus on head and shoulders framing to keep the attention where it belongs: on the expression. Whether it is a birthday gift, an anniversary surprise, or a memorial piece, my goal is a realistic finish that feels authentic to the subject.
- Preservation: Once finished, I apply a spray fixative to prevent the graphite from smudging. I ship all sketches rolled in a rigid safety tube to keep them protected during transit.
- Framing: Please note that these are sold unframed. Because paper can be delicate, I recommend you take your sketch to a local framer to get it mounted with a glass cover; this keeps dust and moisture away from the charcoal and keeps it looking fresh.
Ordering Process
You send me a photo, we chat about the size (A4 for singles, A3 for groups), and then I get to work. It is not just about copying lines; it is about finding the smile or the look that you love most and bringing it to life on paper.
