My process is rooted in practice and steady improvement. I start by reviewing the reference photo you send, looking for the light and details that make the subject unique. I use a range of pencils, from HB for light outlines to 8B for deep shadows, building depth on 200gsm cartridge paper. This weight of paper is sturdy and prevents warping, making it ideal for framing.
Once the sketch is complete, I add a personalized handwritten note before packing it securely between rigid boards and corner protectors. Because I am constantly learning, every commission is a chance to refine my shading and blending techniques.
