Restaurant & Cafe Design
We build dining spaces that prioritize sensory flow and human-centric planning over visual clutter, creating environments where guests feel instantly at ease.
The striking entrance of CHAMPON restaurant. The geometric lattice facade creates a visual landmark and sets a tone of refined, modern Japanese design before guests even step inside.
The main dining hall at CHAMPON, showing the interplay between the bar and table seating. We used a palette of wood, stone, and soft pinks to create different zones within the large, 5000 sq. ft. space.
Booth seating at CHAMPON, designed for a more intimate dining experience. The wood paneling and suspended globe lights contribute to a warm and private atmosphere, consistent with our minimalist approach.
The sushi bar at CHAMPON, offering a direct view of the chefs at work. The design here is clean and functional, with a coffered ceiling and simple wood counter that honor the precision of Japanese culinary arts.
A cafe concept designed to feel open and connected to the outdoors. The large glass facade and colorful transparent panels create a bright, airy environment perfect for a casual dining spot.
A view from the window seating in our cafe concept. The design uses clean lines, simple furniture, and a neutral color palette to allow the colorful glass installations to become the main feature.
A close-up of the layered, colored glass panels. These elements are strategically placed to divide the space visually without blocking light, making the interior feel larger and more dynamic.
About Restaurant & Cafe Design
In our work at CHAMPON, we prioritized the threshold between Mumbai's noise and the interior calm, utilizing a geometric lattice facade to signal a shift in atmosphere. We believe the dining experience starts at the entrance, so we focus on circulation and lighting to ensure the space feels intentional rather than merely decorated.
Great restaurant design is less about filling a room and more about how people move through it. Our approach begins with a strong narrative—a central idea that informs every decision, from the placement of a sushi bar to the acoustic treatment of a dining hall. We reject the 'one-size-fits-all' model, instead analyzing the specific context of your location and the type of cuisine you serve to guide the spatial planning.
Our Process
We move from concept to execution with clarity. We start by developing a design story tailored to your brand, moving through 3D renders that visualize lighting and material scales, to final GFC drawings. For those who need it, we provide a full Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to assist with contractor selection. If you choose our turnkey service, we manage the build—ensuring the vitrified tiles, acoustic baffles, and custom joinery match the vision we established on paper.
Finding the Balance
We hold a firm belief in 'Less clutter. More harmony.' Whether we are designing an intimate cafe with transparent glass elements to maximize light or a 5000 sq. ft. restaurant requiring complex MEP coordination, we prioritize:
- Circulation: Defining clear zones so servers and guests move with ease.
- Materiality: Using natural textures like wood, stone, and micro-concrete that age gracefully.
- Lighting: Layering track lighting and COB downlights to create warmth without overwhelming the senses.
We don't just hand over a plan; we stay on-site to solve the inevitable friction points that arise during construction. Design is a process of reinvention, and we are here to ensure your space feels like a new beginning for your brand.
