Coordinated Dessert Tables for Any Celebration
A dessert table is more than just sweets—it is a visual centerpiece that brings your entire party theme to life. Here is how I design cohesive spreads to make your event memorable.
Here's a behind-the-scenes look at a Super Mario themed dessert table. This project included a two-tiered cake with handmade Mario and Luigi figures, plus matching themed donuts, cupcakes, cake pops, and cakesicles. It took two full days, but seeing it all come together was worth it.
This video gives you a quick look at the three main things I love to create: 3D novelty cakes that look like real objects, full dessert tables that bring a theme to life, and custom cookies that are tiny pieces of art. It shows the versatility and passion my sister and I bring to our work.
An art-themed party calls for an artistic dessert table. This setup featured a two-tiered cake with a custom figurine of the birthday girl and her dogs, along with paint-drip cake pops and palette-themed cupcakes.
For a young football fan, we created this dessert table centered around a hand-painted Ronaldo cake. The main cake is decorated with buttercream and features a detailed, edible painting.

These football-themed cupcakes feature buttercream "grass" and fondant soccer balls. They are a perfect addition to a sports party dessert table, offering a simple yet effective themed treat.

Baked donuts decorated for a football party. We added a soccer net design, edible grass, and the birthday boy's age to tie everything into the theme.

Blue and white cakesicles decorated with soccer ball toppers. These are always a hit with kids and are easy to customize for any party color scheme.
About The Full Spread: Coordinated Dessert Tables
A dessert table setup is a process, not just baking. It takes me a few days of sketching and planning to ensure the main cake, cupcakes, and dipped treats share a consistent color palette and design language. Since these sets are intricate, I require a few days of notice to get the details just right.
When I build a dessert table, I treat it like a cohesive visual project rather than just assembling sweets. Whether it is a football-themed party or an art-inspired birthday, every element—from the two-tier centerpiece to the custom cookies and cakesicles—needs to feel like it belongs in the same story.
I do not just use random designs. We start with your mood board. If you want a hand-painted portrait of a player for a sports theme, I use edible oil paints for high-quality detail rather than relying on generic prints. If we are doing a kids' party, I focus on fondant figurines that capture the character's personality. My sister, Nivedita, usually steps in to perfect the dipped treats like our signature cakesicles and donuts, which adds that professional, polished finish to the spread.
Things to consider for your spread:
- Customization: Everything is tailored. If you have a specific idea or a Pinterest reference, share it early. I love sketching out the plan before we even turn the oven on.
- The Full Spread Experience: A dessert table works best when there is variety. I recommend mixing textures—soft cakes, crunchy cookies, and creamy dipped items.
- Logistics: Because I focus on delicate details, the final product is for pick-up from my studio in Malleswaram. Please ensure your car AC is running to keep the fondant and chocolate work intact during the drive.
- Planning: These tables are time-intensive. I need a few days of lead time to sketch, prep, and execute the styling, so please do not leave it to the last minute.
