From Diwali hampers inspired by local Iyengar bakery classics to personalized Christmas cookie sets, I love creating limited-edition treats that bring a fresh, personal touch to your celebrations.

Our 2024 Diwali hamper is inspired by our favorite treats from local Iyengar bakeries. We've used the same comforting flavors but played with the textures to create an experience that feels fresh yet familiar.

A video showcasing our "Bakery Classics Reimagined" Diwali menu. We drew inspiration from classics like Dilpasand and Pineapple Pastry to create a modern, festive hamper.

The Dilpasand Tea Cake from our Diwali hamper. It's a fruit cake inspired by the classic puff pastry, topped with a white chocolate coconut ganache and more dried fruit.

These Pineapple Cookies are inspired by the classic pineapple pastry. They are tender butter cookies packed with chunks of pineapple.

Inspired by the iconic Honey Cake, these Honey-Berry Macarons are filled with a honey-coconut ganache and a homemade mixed berry filling.

These Chocolate Bon-Bons are my take on the bakery 'Apple Cake'. It's a chocolate shell with a double-layered filling of chocolate ganache and cake truffle.

For a savory touch in our Diwali box, we created Masala Makhana. Inspired by masala biscuits, these roasted fox nuts are tossed in ghee with a similar herb and spice mix.

Learning to make Sakkare Acchu, traditional sugar figurines, was a rewarding process. I was in awe of the genius of our ancestors. These hard candies have a soft bite and melt in your mouth, a perfect treat for Sankranti.

This 3D gingerbread truck makes a wonderful centerpiece for a Christmas party table. It's constructed from 24 different gingerbread cookies and filled with mini Christmas tree cookies.

Personalized Santa cookies make the perfect Christmas gift. Each cookie is individually boxed and can be customized with a name.

About Festive & Seasonal Collections

When I design these festive hampers, I don't just copy standard recipes. For our recent Diwali boxes, I spent weeks testing how to adapt the textures of a classic 'Dilpasand' into a tea cake that actually travels well. If you are gifting these, I always advise on the shelf life of each item because nobody wants a cookie that has lost its crunch by the time it reaches your recipient.

Festive baking is less about mass-producing treats and more about capturing a feeling. Whether it is the warmth of a Diwali celebration or the excitement of Christmas, I approach every seasonal order with a specific narrative in mind.

Take our Diwali hampers, for instance. Instead of generic sweets, I looked to Bengaluru’s iconic Iyengar bakeries for inspiration. We reimagined those childhood favorites—transforming the flaky 'Dilpasand' into a fruit tea cake and creating Honey-Berry Macarons as a nod to the classic Honey Cake. It is about taking those familiar, comforting flavors and refining them into a fresh, giftable format.

Then there is the technical side of tradition. Learning to make 'Sakkare Acchu' (traditional sugar figurines) for Sankranti was a journey into old-school chemistry. It taught me that sometimes, the most sophisticated sugar work is the kind our ancestors perfected centuries ago without a single digital thermometer. I apply that same 'keep-it-real' approach to our Christmas range, where we do everything from personalized gingerbread cookies to customized chocolate Rudolphs that reflect the personalities of your friends and family.

Important details for seasonal orders:

  • Customization: Everything is made-to-order in my Malleswaram kitchen. For hampers, I provide a guide on shelf life so you know exactly which treat to enjoy first.
  • Packaging: Seasonal items are fragile. I package them in sturdy, windowed boxes designed to keep cookies crisp and chocolates intact during transit.
  • Planning: Since I manage the entire process—from baking to hand-painting the figurines—I need a bit of lead time during peak festive weeks. If you have a specific vision or a large order, please reach out early so I can sketch out the design.

I am Namita, and I have been running Cake It Easy out of Malleswaram since 2013. I treat every seasonal hamper like a mini project, obsessed with the details—whether it is getting the ginger-snap just right or hand-painting a name on a cookie.
