About this collection

When I convert your silk saree into a lehenga, the secret is all in the can-can layering. I use a mix of hard net and canvas to ensure that ballroom volume you want, without it ever feeling scratchy against your skin. It is a complete structural transformation that turns a single piece of fabric into a ready-to-wear outfit for your engagement or reception.

Turning a 5.5m silk saree into a flared lehenga is one of my favourite things to do at my Yelahanka studio. It is the perfect way to breathe new life into a classic weave that you might not wear as a saree often, but still love the fabric of.

How I construct your lehenga:

  • The Skirt: I use a box-pleated or Kalidar cut to maximise the flare and show off the border of your saree. I add hard net (Can-Can) and a canvas hem to give it that structured, royal shape.
  • The Lining: Comfort is key. I use full satin or crepe lining so it never feels transparent or scratchy.
  • The Blouse: I pair your skirt with a semi-bridal hand-embroidered blouse. Whether you want deep backs or trendy sleeves, I make sure the embroidery style matches the occasion.

This conversion package typically costs between ₹9500 and ₹16500, depending on the complexity of the work. If you have a specific silk saree in mind, bring it over to my studio in Bengaluru. We can sit down, look at the fabric, and decide on the best design to make you one of my next happy costumers.
