About For Your Big Day: Bridal & Engagement Ensembles
Many brides come to me wanting to repurpose a mother's Kanjeevaram for their wedding look, and we spend a lot of time ensuring the transition from saree to lehenga or gown feels seamless and respectful to the original fabric. It is not just about the cut, but about preserving the nostalgia of the weave while giving it a modern, functional silhouette for your big day.
Every wedding ensemble I create starts with a conversation. We discuss the vibe of the event, the fabrics that speak to you, and how we can make the piece comfortable enough for you to wear for hours.
Designing for Distance
I have worked with brides like Adithi, who trusted me to create her classic all-gold bridal outfit while she was living abroad. We managed the measurements and design details remotely, ensuring the hand-embroidered blouse fit perfectly when she arrived a few days before the wedding. If you are not in Bangalore, we will make the process just as collaborative and smooth.
The Technical Details
What makes an outfit comfortable isn't just the design, but the internal structure.
- Support: For gowns and heavy lehengas, I include proper corsetry or boning in the bodice to give you shape and support without needing heavy innerwear.
- Comfort: I use high-quality, pre-washed cotton linings. If you are wearing a langa dhavani, I make sure the can-can layers are balanced so you get that perfect flare without feeling weighed down.
- Longevity: We use 2-3 inch margins on all pieces, so you have room to adjust the fit later if needed.
Styling & Coordination
From the lilac langa dhavani that blends modern floral prints with traditional Aari work to off-shoulder engagement gowns, I love mixing influences. Whether you want a full-blown traditional bridal look or a chic, fusion ensemble, my team and I focus on the little things—like matching your blouse embroidery to your jewelry or ensuring your dupatta drape sits exactly how you want it to.
