Our Approach to Ecological Architecture and Design
We believe architecture is a dialogue—between the land, the materials, and the people who live within them.

About this collection
When we built the Mathru School, we didn't buy new materials. Instead, we sourced windows from a demolished house, giving them a second life. This is our circular approach in action—we treat debris as a resource rather than waste, ensuring your project has a smaller ecological footprint and a story behind every wall.
Our practice began in a small basement office, fueled by long conversations about water, sanitation, and design. Those early days established a core belief that still drives us today: architecture is a social process, not just a structural one. We work with the land, not against it, which means our design process is fundamentally participatory. We involve the people who will actually use the space—from elders and children to local artisans—to ensure the building serves its community.
We specialize in mud, stone, and adobe construction. By using these vernacular materials, we keep traditional craftsmanship alive while reducing the environmental impact of construction. Our work also focuses on circularity. We look for 'perceived waste'—leftover windows, debris, and recycled components—and integrate them into our structural plans. This ensures that our buildings are not just efficient but are deeply rooted in the context of their location.
Whether we are master planning a two-acre site or designing a small eco-cottage, our goal is to create spaces that adapt, change, and hold meaning for decades.
