From Concept to Creation: Our Design Process
We believe a building starts long before the foundation is poured. Here is how we translate raw potential into spaces that breathe.
The very beginning of a new project. This minimalist glass structure is placed on the raw red earth, a blank canvas upon which a holistic masterplan for ecological and landscape design will unfold.
An art gallery under construction. Here, the fundamental geometry of the space takes shape with concrete blocks and a prominent circular opening, which will eventually frame a key view.
Another view of the gallery's construction, showing the scaffolding that supports the creation of the large, round window. This is the skeletal phase where architectural ideas become physical form.
Workers install the structural framework of the gallery. The morning light casts long shadows, highlighting the rhythm of the vertical fins that will define the building's facade.
This image captures the hands-on process of construction. The steel frame and blockwork show the honest, exposed material palette I often favor in my designs.
A detail of the gallery's lower window openings during construction. The play of light and shadow through these repeating forms is an intentional design element, visible even at this early stage.
A view through unfinished doorways reveals the layers of the space. The raw concrete block walls give a sense of the building's solid, geometric foundation before the final finishes are applied.
Looking through the structure, you can see how light interacts with the unfinished interior. This phase is critical for understanding how the space will feel once completed.
About From Concept to Creation: A Glimpse Into Our Process
We do not hide the bones of a building. When we work with raw concrete or exposed blockwork, we calculate the sun's path to ensure light does not just illuminate the space, but actively defines it through the day. What you see in these frames is our attempt to manage this light—creating shadows and depth before the final finish ever touches the wall.
The images here document the 'skeletal phase' of our projects. For us, this is the most critical time. It is when the architectural intent—the geometry of a window, the rhythm of a column, the placement of a structural fin—is laid bare.
We prioritize honest, exposed materials like Sadharhalli stone and raw blockwork because they age gracefully and ground the structure in its location. During this phase, we coordinate directly with structural engineers to achieve specific aesthetics, such as column-free spaces in gallery areas, while keeping the building envelope efficient.
Our process relies on constant presence. We do not just hand over drawings; we monitor the build closely, ensuring that the 'softscape' we planned integrates seamlessly with the structure. When you look at these construction shots, you are seeing the result of our commitment to blending inside and outside, ensuring the transition from a living room to a garden feels natural, not forced.
